Charli D’Amelio Reveals She Uses Vital Red Light in Her Elite Skincare Routine

Charli D’Amelio Reveals She Uses Vital Red Light in Her Elite Skincare Routine

Mega influencer Charli D’Amelio, aka the reigning TikTok queen, just revealed the latest addition to her skincare routine: the Vital Elite 2.0.

In her latest YouTube vlog, posted Aug. 15, D’Amelio gave her nearly 9 million subscribers an updated look at her daily life after taking some time away from her famous vlogs. Halfway through the video, she shared that she recently started incorporating red light therapy into her routine after hearing about its potential benefits.

She ended the discussion by sharing her excitement about seeing what consistent use could do.

For Vital Red Light, seeing the Vital Elite 2.0 make an appearance in D’Amelio's routine is exciting on its own. But it also represents something bigger for red light therapy.

Bringing Red Light Therapy to a New Generation

D’Amelio has built one of the largest social media followings in the world, with an audience that includes millions of Gen Z and younger consumers. When someone with that kind of reach talks openly about adding red light therapy to her skincare routine, it introduces the technology to people who may have never considered it before.

And interest is already growing.

A 2025 study examining the relationship between TikTok and interest in red light therapy found that online interest jumped 118% after red light therapy gained significant traction on the platform in early 2024. Interest eventually surpassed several traditional skincare treatments.

That's part of what makes moments like D'Amelio sharing her routine important. Red light therapy is becoming less of a treatment people only associate with spas, wellness centers or professional athletes and more of something younger consumers are discovering for themselves.

“Seeing someone like Charli D'Amelio promote health and wellness for her generation is inspiring,” says Andrew Hasty, Founder and CEO of Vital Red Light. “It's exactly the kind of awareness we love to see, and we're honored that Vital Red Light is a part of her wellness routine.”

For younger audiences who are already paying close attention to skincare, beauty and wellness, that increased awareness gives them an opportunity to learn about another option they can incorporate into their routines.

Why Red Light Therapy Has Become Part of the Skincare Conversation

Red light therapy, also known as photobiomodulation, uses specific wavelengths of light that interact with the body's cells. Unlike many skincare treatments, it is non-invasive and does not require downtime.

Research into red light therapy for skin has produced some promising results.

One randomized clinical trial involving 137 women studied red and amber light for facial rejuvenation. After 10 sessions over four weeks, researchers measured a 31.6% reduction in wrinkle volume on the areas treated with red light.

Another controlled study involving 136 participants found improvements in skin complexion, skin feeling and skin roughness among treated participants. Researchers also measured increased collagen density following treatment.

Other clinical research has similarly found improvements in wrinkles and skin elasticity following LED light treatments, along with increases in collagen and elastic fibers.

The research helps explain why red light therapy has become increasingly common in conversations surrounding healthier-looking skin, fine lines, skin texture, and collagen production.

But skincare is only part of the appeal. Depending on the wavelengths and device being used, red and near-infrared light therapy are also commonly incorporated into routines focused on muscle recovery, circulation and overall wellness.

The Vital Elite 2.0 in Charli's Routine

The Vital Elite 2.0 featured in D'Amelio's vlog is Vital Red Light's full-body panel and features nine wavelengths: 480, 590, 630, 660, 670, 810, 830, 850 and 1060 nanometers.

Those wavelengths include red and near-infrared light, along with blue and yellow light, giving users different options depending on their goals.

Its full-body size also makes it possible to go beyond a face-only skincare routine. Someone might initially become interested in red light because of its potential skin benefits, for example, and also incorporate it into their recovery or general wellness routine.

Most importantly, having a device at home makes consistency much easier. Instead of booking appointments or adding another trip to an already busy schedule, users can build light therapy into their existing routines.

Red Light Therapy Might Be the Skincare Gift of the Holiday Season

With the holiday season around the corner, red light therapy also offers something different for people shopping for skincare and wellness gifts.

And it doesn't have to mean gifting someone a full-body setup.

Vital Red Light offers several options depending on the person and how they plan to use red light therapy. The compact Vital Charge offers targeted red and near-infrared light therapy in a handheld device, while the Vital Pro and Vital Pro 2.0 provide greater coverage for targeted and half-body sessions. The Vital Elite and Vital Elite 2.0 step up to full-body coverage for someone looking to make light therapy a bigger part of their routine.

That range makes red light therapy an option for everyone from the skincare-obsessed friend who seems to have tried everything to the person focused on fitness, recovery or simply upgrading their wellness routine.

And unlike another serum or skincare product that eventually runs out, a red light therapy device is something they can continue using well beyond the holidays.

More Eyes on Red Light Therapy

D'Amelio sharing the Vital Elite 2.0 may have only taken up a small portion of her vlog, but putting red light therapy in front of millions of younger viewers helps continue a much larger conversation.

More people are learning what red light therapy is, why people use it, and how easily it can fit into an at-home skincare and wellness routine.

For a technology that was once unfamiliar to many everyday consumers, that growing awareness matters. And if it encourages a new generation to learn more about light therapy and the research behind it, even better.

The Vital Elite 2.0 is available for purchase here.
